I make my living as a river guide on the tailwaters and smallmouth streams of East Tennessee. It is my full time occupation and I consider it a priveledge. It's often hard work, and the benefits suck..but the office is amazing and the comaraderie second to none! Guiding is a shared experience between angler and guide, there is nothing I'd rather do and no where else I'd rather be. Before you spend your hard earned money on a guide, me or any other, ask around, do your home work. Reputations are built on the water, not on the internet. Experienced anglers and area fly shops are a good place to start. Perceptions of the rivers you fish are often a product of the guide you choose to fish them with, we have some of the best fishing in the country, and some of the best guides. Obviously I hope you go with me, but just as importantly, come away with a good idea of what our area has to offer.

If you are unfamiliar with our service or East Tennessee tailwaters, all our trout rivers are controlled by TVA dams. What they release on any given day is the largest determining factor in your decision on where to go and what time we start and end a days fishing. TVA posts these water release schedules daily and the next day's schedule is generally available by 5pm the evening before. With enough experience you can get a general idea of what a given river might do a week or so ahead of time, but nothing is set in stone. We have a lot of water, and a lot of options, but if you book your trip more than a day or two in advance (recommended) I will not likely be able to tell you exactly where we will go or what time and where we will meet. I'm not being vague, I really don't know! Be assured I will always present you with the best possible options for any given day and the final decision will be yours. There is a link to the TVA website in my "links" section if you're interested in looking at their data, or you can take most of our repeat guests approach and just say "find me some fish!"..
